Former Wellington Duke Rusty Hafner had an assist as his Columbus Cottonmouths went on to defeat the Pensacola Ice Flyers by a score of 4 to 3 in SPHL action.
After his 2014-15 season he was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team as a senior with the Bowling Green Falcons. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must have completed at least one full year at his present institution and must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the previous two semesters or cumulative over their entire academic career.
The Toledo, Ohio native played on the Dukes Dudley Hewitt Cup team in 2011 and will be remembered for scoring the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 4 of the OJHL Playoff finals against the Oakville Blades. The Dukes would go on to win their second OJHL and Dudley Hewitt Cup Championships in franchise history.
