The Wellington Dukes Hockey Club is in mourning over the passing last night of BJ Ketcheson after a lengthy battle with cancer. The Napanee, Ontario native made the Dukes team at the 1995-96 season training camp at the unheard of age of 15 years old.
After a solid season with the Dukes where the stay-at-home defenseman played in 47 games and picked up 8 points he was drafted by the OHL Peterborough Petes. He played 3 years with the Petes and one with the Mississauga IceDogs. In 1998 he was drafted by the NHL Florida Panthers.
Visitation for Mr. Ketcheson takes place at Parkdale Baptist Church in Belleville (514 Sidney Street) June 3rd from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and then 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The memorial is June 4th at Parkdale Baptiste Church. Visitation starts at noon and the service is at 2:00 PM.
