Former Wellington Duke goaltender Dayne Davis stopped 20 of 21 shots he faced as his Melbourne Ice defeated the CBR Brave by a score of 4 to 1 to capture the Goodall Cup for the second year in a row in the AIHL (Australia Ice Hockey League).  His 2.33 GAA was the lowest in the league and his 20 wins were the most in the eight team league.  Last year he played for the Newcastle North Stars where he won his first Goodall Cup as playoff champions of the AIHL.


The native of Tilbury, Ontario played one season (2002-03) for the Dukes where they finished the regular season with a 47-1-1 won/lost/tied record and he had the league lowest GAA of 1.40 as the team went on to win the Buckland Cup and Dudley Hewitt Cup as well as a semi-final appearance in the RBC Cup.
