Former Wellington Duke goaltender Dayne Davis won his 16th game of the regular season for the Melbourne Ice giving him a 16 and 1 won/loss record in the AIHL (Australia Ice Hockey League). His 2.41 GAA is the lowest in the league and has helped propel his team to first place in the eight team league. Last year he played for the Newcastle North Stars and won the Goodall Cup as playoff champions of the AIHL.
The native of Tilbury, Ontario played one season (2002-03) for the Dukes where they finished the regular season with a 47-1-1 won/lost/tied record and he had the league lowest GAA of 1.40 as the team went on to win the Buckland Cup and Dudley Hewitt Cup as well as a semi-final appearance in the RBC Cup.
