Former Wellington Dukes forward Shaw Boomhower was named 3rd Star of the Game assisting on a third period tieing-goal as his Mississauga Steelheads went on to defeat the Erie Otters by a score of 4 to 3 in OHL playoff action. The Otters lead the best-of-seven finals series two games to one. He was ranked as the 3rd Best Body Checker in the Eastern Conference by the OHL Coaches Poll and has been ranked at #112 in the NHL Final-Term Draft.
The Belleville, Ontario native played his rookie season with the Dukes this past year as a 17 year old out of the Quinte Red Devils AAA program. He played most of this past season on an all-rookie line where his physical play also included 23 points in 51 regular season games while adding 3 more points in 9 OJHL playoff games.
