|ABRAMS COACHES MILESTONE GAME|
|October 5, 2016 « Back « Previous Next »|
A big congratulations to longtime Wellington Dukes Head Coach/General Manager Marty Abrams for coaching his 1000th game with the franchise on September 23 in a 3-2 win over the Burlington Cougars. Abrams took over as head coach in the 1999-00 season and immediately made a huge impact with the County club. He added GM to his title in 2006. He led the Dukes to 2003 and 2011 Buckland Cup and Dudley Hewitt Cup championships, as well as semi-final appearances at the Royal Bank National Championship both years. He was also instrumental in Wellington's Dudley Hewitt hosting year in 2014, where the Dukes fell in a close final game against the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots. The Dukes have not had a losing season under Abrams since he took over. Wellington looks to be well on their way to another successful season in 2016-17, starting off at 9-1 through their first 10 games.
Congratulations Marty and many more years to come!
