Former Wellington Dukes netminder Hayden Lavigne faced 37 shots as his University of Michigan Wolverines upset the #11 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions by a score of 3 to 2 in Big Ten action.
The native of Brampton, Ontario joined the Dukes as a 16 year old during the 2012-13 OJHL season out of the Toronto Nationals Minor Midget 'AAA' program. The 6'3", 195 lbs. netminder posted a 9-7-1 record during his only OJHL season, including a 2.48 goals against average and a .922 save percentage, both tied for sixth overall in the entire league, while posting four shutouts in just 20 games played. Lavigne's efforts earned a spot as the 2nd Team All-Prospect goaltender following the season and earned his commitment to the University of Michigan that kicked-off this season.
