The Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce their award winners for the month of December:
Colin Doyle has been named the Long Reach Towels Offensive Player of the Month. The Campbellford, Ontario native had at least one point in all six games played including a 4 point night in a 7 to 2 win against the Kingston Voyageurs when he was named Hardest Working Player of the Game. He has surpassed his point totals from his rookie season last year with 20 games left to be played. With two more years of junior eligibility after this year he will be exploring his university options.
Brody Morris has been named the Duke of Wellington Defensive Player of the Month. The Corbyville, Ontario native had 7 points in 6 games including being named 1st Star of the Game by scoring a hat-trick in the 7 to 2 win over the Kingston Voyageurs. He has been used as both a forward and a defenseman this year while helping the team to hold the opposition to just 9 goals in the 6 games played. In his final season of junior hockey he will be attending a Canadian University in the fall of 2017.
