Former Wellington Dukes captain Justin Bean had a pair of assists including one on the powerplay in his collegiate debut as his York University Lions defeated the Windsor Lancers by a score of 3 to 2 in OUA action.
The Pickering, Ontario native recently completed his OJHL career with the Dukes (133 games, 87 points) after closing out his minor hockey with the Ajax-Pickering Raiders 'AAA' organization in 2011-12. He then played a season with the Uxbridge Bruins where he was named CJCHL Rookie-of-the-Year. Drafted by the Belleville Bulls he would play 76 OHL games with both the Bulls and the Mississauga Steelheads.
This past season saw him as just one of three Dukes players to play in all 54 regular season contests where he had 8 multi-point games including a four assist night in a win over the Lindsay Muskies. In the playoffs he was named twice the Hardest Working Player of the Game.
