Former Wellington Duke (2006-07) goaltender Ed Pasquale was named 1st Star of the Game facing 18 shots as his Grand Rapids Griffins defeated the San Antonio Rampage by a score of 6 to 0 in AHL action.  He lowered his GAA to 2.26 (7th AHL) and improved his save % to .922 (5th AHL) and has had three shutouts so far this season.  The Griffins are the top affiliate team of the the NHL Detroit Red Wings.

The Toronto, Ontario native had a 1.92 GAA in his lone season with the Dukes as a 16 year old which was the lowest average in the entire OJHL.  Drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL in 2009 he went on to play four seasons in the AHL when the team relocated to Winnipeg as the Jets.  Twice he was called up to the Jets team as an injury replacement but never got into a game.
