Former Wellington Duke (2006-07) goaltender Ed Pasquale and the Grand Rapid Griffins are AHL Playoff Champions winning the Calder Cup over the Syracuse Crunch in six games. He had a 2.43 GAA and a .919 save % with four shutouts among his 15 wins during the regular season. The Griffins are the top affiliate team of the the NHL Detroit Red Wings.
The Toronto, Ontario native had a 1.92 GAA in his lone season with the Dukes as a 16 year old which was the lowest average in the entire OJHL. Drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers of the NHL in 2009 he went on to play four seasons in the AHL when the team relocated to Winnipeg as the Jets. Twice he was called up to the Jets team as an injury replacement but never got into a game.
