DUKES EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO 6 WITH 4 to 3 SHOOTOUT OVER COBOURG COUGARS

The Wellington Dukes fell behind by a score of 2 to 0 before the game was six minutes old but fought back to pick up their sixth consecutive win and move into first place in the OJHL East Division.  Trevor Cope scored before the period would end and Mike Soucier netted a powerplay marker in the second to tie the game up at two.  The Cougars moved ahead again by a goal but Erick Delaurentis tied the game up once more in the third period.  No scoring in the five minute overtime as the Dukes went on to pick up the extra point on shootout goals by Delaurentis and Soucier.

Steven Deeg assisted on all three regulation goals while other helpers went to Cope with a pair and Delaurentis.  Lucas Machalski came on in relief in net and made 26 saves to pick up his sixth win of the season.

The Dukes will now make their lone regular season visit to Aurora on Wednesday as they take on the Tigers with a 7:30 PM puck drop.
