The Wellington Dukes fell behind by a goal before storming back to win their home opener 4 to 1 over the West Division Georgetown Raiders.
Erick Delaurentis was named Hardest Working Player and 1st Star with a goal plus an assist. Mike Soucier, with a powerplay goal and two assists, was named 2nd Star. Defensive Player of the Game Andrew Coupland scored the game winning goal on the powerplay and drew an assist. Former Whitby Fury Steven Deeg scored an insurance goal and recorded an assist while Sudbury native Cody Gratton assisted on the game winning goal. Trevor Cope made his Dukes debut after sitting out with a serious injury and also had an assist.
Lucas Michalski stopped 37 of 38 shots in picking up his second win of the season.
The Dukes will visit Whitby on Sunday afternoon with a 2:10 PM puck drop.
